چکیده

diapause. Pafr protein was present in a membrane bound form in the glandular epithelium of the endometrium across all stages, analysis studies are in progress to determine any temporal changes in levels of expression. In vitro, paf production from the endometrium increases after diapause (Kojima et al., 1993). p53 expression assessed by RT-PCR, was detected in the endometrium across all stages of entry into, diapause and reactivation from diapause. p53 protein levels in the endometrium varied dependent on stage examined. These data suggest that paf and p53 may participate in the molecular control of embryonic diapause in the tammar.

Transcriptional and Translational Control of Zebrafish Mesodermal Development

Establishment of the mesodermal germ layer is a process dependent on the integration of multiple transcriptional and signaling inputs. Here I investigate the role of the transcription factor FoxD3 in zebrafish mesodermal development. FoxD3 gain-of-function results in dorsal mesoderm expansion and body axis dorsalization. FoxD3 knockdown results in axial defects similar to Nodal loss-of-function...

The Wnt signaling mediator tcf1 is required for expression of foxd3 during Xenopus gastrulation.

TCF1 belongs to the family of LEF1/TCF transcription factors that regulate gene expression downstream of Wnt/β-catenin signaling, which is crucial for embryonic development and is involved in adult stem cell regulation and tumor growth. In early Xenopus embryos, tcf1 plays an important role in mesoderm induction and patterning. Foxd3 emerged as a potential tcf1 target gene in a microarray analy...

FoxD3 regulation of Nodal in the Spemann organizer is essential for Xenopus dorsal mesoderm development.

Induction and patterning of the mesodermal germ layer is a key early step of vertebrate embryogenesis. We report that FoxD3 function in the Xenopus gastrula is essential for dorsal mesodermal development and for Nodal expression in the Spemann organizer. In embryos and explants, FoxD3 induced mesodermal genes, convergent extension movements and differentiation of axial tissues. Engrailed-FoxD3,...

Foxd3 controls melanophore specification in the zebrafish neural crest by regulation of Mitf.

We describe a mechanistic model whereby Foxd3, a forkhead transcription factor, prevents neural crest-derived precursors from acquiring a melanophore fate. Foxd3 regulates this fate choice by repressing the mitfa promoter in a subset of neural crest cells. mitfa is only expressed in a Foxd3-negative subset of neural crest cells, and foxd3 mutants show an increase in the spatial domain of mitfa ...

Programmed translational frameshifting in a gene required for yeast telomere replication

BACKGROUND Telomeres are replicated in most eukaryotes by the enzyme telomerase, a specialized reverse transcriptase. A genetic screen in Saccharomyces cerevisiae designed to detect telomerase components previously led to the identification of four EST ('ever shorter telomeres') genes which are required for telomerase function in vivo. This report describes the cloning and characterization of E...
